Death domain of Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor superfamily 25
Death Domain (DD) found in Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) receptor superfamily 25 (TNFRSF25), also known as TRAMP (TNF receptor-related apoptosis-mediating protein), LARD, APO-3, WSL-1, or DR3 (Death Receptor-3). TNFRSF25 is primarily expressed in T cells, is activated by binding to its ligand TL1A, and plays an important role in T-cell function. DDs are protein-protein interaction domains found in a variety of domain architectures. Their common feature is that they form homodimers by self-association or heterodimers by associating with other members of the DD superfamily including CARD (Caspase activation and recruitment domain), DED (Death Effector Domain), and PYRIN. They serve as adaptors in signaling pathways and can recruit other proteins into signaling complexes.
