This family contains uncharacterized UPF0758 family proteins including Escherichia coli UPF0758 protein YfjY. They contain an MPN domain with a modified JAB1/MPN/Mov34 metalloenzyme (JAMM) motif, EXnHNHX7SXXD. The signature motif, EXnHS/THX7SXXD, is involved in zinc ion coordination and provides the active site for isopeptidase activity. Proteins in this family have been referred to as DNA repair protein RadC, however the name RadC has been misleading and no function has been determined.
