TRX-like [2Fe-2S] Ferredoxin (Fd) family, Sucrase subfamily; composed of proteins with similarity to a novel plant enzyme, isolated from potato, which contains a Fd-like domain and exhibits sucrolytic activity. The putative active site of the Fd-like domain of the enzyme contains two cysteines and two histidines for possible binding to iron-sulfur clusters, compared to four cysteines present in the active site of Fd.
Comment:This subfamily contains two cysteines and two histidines in the metal binding site, instead of four cysteines typical of TRX-like [2Fe-2S] ferredoxins. This is similar to the binding site of Rieske-type iron-sulfur proteins.
