This model identifies Cfr, a 23S rRNA methyltransferase, EC 2.1.1.224, responsible for a transmissible form of chloramphenicol/florfenicol resistance. It is closely related to RlmN (see TIGR00048), an adenine C2-methyltransferase that acts at the same site where Cfr acts as a C8-methyltransferase [Protein synthesis, tRNA and rRNA base modification]
