A form of threonine dehydratase with two copies of the C-terminal domain pfam00585 is described by TIGR01124. This model describes a phylogenetically distinct form with a single copy of pfam00585. This form branches with the catabolic threonine dehydratase of E. coli; many members are designated as catabolic for this reason. However, the catabolic form lacks any pfam00585 domain.
