This family represents a conserved region approximately 400 residues long within 15-O-acetyltransferase (Tri3), which seems to be restricted to ascomycete fungi. In Fusarium sporotrichioides, this is required for acetylation of the C-15 hydroxyl group of trichothecenes in the biosynthesis of T-2 toxin.
