Herpes virus intermediate/early protein 2/3
These viral sequences are similar to UL117 protein of human and chimpanzee cytomegalovirus, and to intermediate/early proteins 2 and 3 of certain herpes viruses. UL117 is thought to be a glycoprotein that is expressed at early and late times after infection. This region is close to the C-terminus of the protein and may be a transmembrane region.
