?
cytochrome oxidase small assembly protein Members of this family are small proteins, averaging about 40 amino acids in length as predicted, with a conserved core region just 30 amino acids long. The conserved region contains a highly hydrophobic probable transmembrane alpha helix. Members regularly are found encoded in the context of much larger cytochrome oxidase complex subunits, in members of the Burkholderiales such as Bordetella pertussis and Burkholderia sp.
