The peptidoglycan-hydrolyzing enzyme GsmA occurs in some sporangia-forming members of the Actinobacteria, such as Actinoplanes missouriensis, and is required for proper separation of spores. GsmA proteins have one or two SH3 domains N-terminal to the hydrolase domain.
