SidJ family T4SS effector polyglutamylation protein
SidJ, called a pseudokinase because its polyglutamylation activity differs from what might be expected from its kinase-like fold, is the founding member of a family of such pseudokinases. SidJ itself, as described in Legionella pneumophila, is exported by a type IV secretion system (T4SS), and modifies and modulates the activity of T4SS effector SidE.
