Lp6.6 family lipoprotein In Borrelia burgdorferi, the tiny lipoprotein Lp6.6 is plasmid-borne and was originally described as a major low-molecular-weight lipoprotein that could constitute 2% of the dry weight of defatted cells. Lp6.6 was later found to facilitate transmission from ticks to mice, and to be down-regulated after infection.
