2 Installation and configuration

NCBI provides wwwblast packages for a variety of computer platforms. Platforms currently supported are summarized below. These packages are available as wwwblast-initialed archives from: ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/blast/executables/LATEST/.
