The blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome, also called Bean syndrome, was reported in 1860 by Gascoyen and described in details by Bean in 1958. The syndrome consists of bleb-like cavernous hemangiomas of the skin and visceral organs. The digestive lesions may present as otolaryngologic manifestations leading to hemorrhage and suffocation. The authors report a case of a 16 year old white female presenting with a supraglottic mass amenable to surgery. This case seems to be the first one to be reported in the otolaryngologic literature.
