A response to monoamines in Peripatopsis moseleyi (Onychophora).

    Abstract

Preparations of longitudinal muscle respond to catecholamines if the ventral nerve cords are present, and also to 5-hydroxytryptamine. The response to 5HT is complex if the central nervous system is present, but muscle alone is probably inhibited.
