Systematic Evidence Review Search. Database: AHRQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Figure 1 is a flow chart that summarizes the search and selection of articles. There were 543 citations identified by searching MEDLINE, the Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects, PubMed, and the Cochrane Collaboration Registry of Controlled Trials. An additional 62 citations were identified from outside sources such as reference lists and suggestions from peer reviewers. After duplicates were removed, 525 unique citations were screened at the title/abstract stage. The full-text of 73 citations were examined for inclusion for one or more of the three Key Questions. The following number of articles were included for Key Question 1 (n=54), Key Question 2 (n=56), Key Question 3 (n=74). Reasons for excluding the other articles are available in Appendix C.
