Figure F-10 is titled “Change in BAI for cognitive therapy compared with control, by type of comparator, Cohen’s d.” The figure displays a forest plot reporting the standard mean difference in BAI scores stratified by cognitive therapy compared to waitlist, cognitive therapy compared to self-help booklet, and cognitive therapy compared to usual care. The plot depicts greater reductions in BAI scores for patients treated with cognitive therapy than waitlist (2 trials, standard mean difference −1.20, 95% CI −1.67 to −0.73, I2 = 0.0%), self-help booklet (1 trial, standard mean difference −1.07, 95% CI −1.65 to −0.49), or usual care (1 trial, standard mean difference −0.39, 95% CI −0.88 to 0.10). The overall analysis favored cognitive therapy (standard mean difference −0.93, 95% CI −1.36 to −0.50, I2 = 51.1%).
