This figure depicts the meta-analysis of the impact oral antiplatelet prophylaxis versus mechanical prophylaxis on distaldeep vein thrombosis in patients who had major orthopedic. One trial by Haas and colleagues in 1990 was included in the analysis with this trial contributing two separate comparisons presented individually here. The first comparison provided a relative risk of 2.13 with a 95 percent confidence interval of 1.09 to 4.33. The second comparison provided a relative risk of 1.59 with a 95 percent confidence interval of 0.91 to 2.90. The combined effect of the two comparisons showed a relative risk of 1.79 with a 95 percent confidence interval of 1.15 to 2.79. The I-squared value and the Egger's p-value could not be calculated because only one study was available.
