    Abstract

As more families recognize the tremendous advantages of breastfeeding, more mothers are choosing to continue breastfeeding when they return to an employment setting. Using a chronological format, this section describes strategies health care providers can use to assist employed mothers to prepare for continued breastfeeding, develop skills needed to continue breastfeeding, overcome challenges, and successfully meet their breastfeeding goals. Numerous charts/tables that can be shared with mothers are included.
