    Abstract

The locomotor behaviour of howler monkeys (genus Alouatta) has been the subject of several detailed field studies [1-6]. This paper describes the locomotor behaviour of black howler monkeys (Alouatta caraya) living in a small area of forested habitat characterized by a discontinuous canopy.
