Transient endothelial changes soon after wearing soft contact lenses

Am J Optom Physiol Opt. 1977 Dec;54(12):856-8. doi: 10.1097/00006324-197712000-00010.

Abstract

Changes in the appearance of the corneal endothelial mosaic have been observed within minutes after insertion of soft contact lenses in unadapted patients. The changes consist of increased separation between cells and circumscribed black zones (endothelial "blebs") obscuring or displacing the mosaic.
