Anaerobic pulmonary abscesses. Hematogenous spread from head and neck infections

Clin Pediatr (Phila). 1986 Oct;25(10):520-2. doi: 10.1177/000992288602501007.

Abstract

Multiple anaerobic pulmonary abscesses in previously healthy children are rare. Two cases are presented in which the discovery and adequate drainage of infectious foci in the head and neck were key to controlling the infection.
