Br J Clin Psychol. 1987 Sep;26 ( Pt 3):229-30.

The inter-rater reliability of the National Adult Reading Test (NART): a pilot study.

Author information

  • Department of Clinical Psychology, Andrew Duncan Clinic, Royal Edinburgh Hospital, UK.

Twelve consecutive out-patients had their performance on the National Adult Reading Test (NART) audiotaped. This tape was then 'scored' for accuracy of pronunciation by 10 experienced clinical psychologists who use the NART in their routine clinical practice. The results indicate that the NART has a relatively high degree of inter-rater reliability.
