Purpose of review: To review recent advances on the mechanisms and management of acquired aponeurotic blepharoptosis.
Recent findings: Recent advances over the past year have focused on refining well known methods of ptosis repair, expanding and modifying techniques to treat difficult and more severe conditions, and uncovering the biomechanical and neurostimulatory mechanisms of ptosis and its repair.
Summary: Innovations in ptosis repair are discussed in the context of current treatment paradigms.
