Analysis of the structure of some pseudogenes and active genes coding for mRNAs, snRNas and tRNas, as well as of several sequences defined as middle repetitive ones, has made it possible to suggest a mechanism of their amplification and spreading through genome. The mechanism involves a reverse transcription of RNA product of homologous gene with a subsequent integration of the formed cDNA-product into the genomic DNA by an insertion or gene conversion. Presumably about 20% of genome may have originated in such a way.
