Abstract

Direct care nurses have multiple opportunities to influence quality and safety across the health care continuum. High-quality organizations recognize the value of frontline providers and drive programs to improve care and outcomes. Teamwork, communication, enhanced technology and patient- and family-centered care initiatives will support these processes, which drive the delivery of quality care. Nurses can be leaders in culture change by supporting these processes.
