    Abstract

A review is presented of the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of acromioclavicular joint injuries with a discussion of special cases and complications. The results of nonoperative and operative treatments are examined, with particular emphasis on the Mumford and Weaver-Dunn procedures. Conservative treatment is indicated for most acute cases. Weighted films may not be necessary.
