Hypoprothrombinaemia associated with use of cephamandole.

Department of General Medicine, Fremantle Hospital, Western Australia.

    Abstract

We report 4 cases in which the use of cephamandole was associated with coagulopathy. All 4 patients had renal impairment, but no other known predisposing factors. It is recommended that the coagulation profile be monitored during administration of cephamandole, especially when there is a background of renal impairment.
