Scand J Infect Dis. 2009;41(4):317-9. doi: 10.1080/00365540902744774.

Abstract

We report a case of emphysematous gastritis with secondary peritonitis. Despite aggressive surgical intervention and appropriate antimicrobial treatment, the patient ran a fulminant course leading to death. Review of the literature in the past 20 y provided additional information on this disease entity.
