An infectious groove.... Despite attempts to eliminate hospital-acquired infections, new Leapfrog study finds 87% of hospitals still aren't up to snuff.

Abstract

Everyone knows hospital-acquired infections pose a big threat. And it isn't going away. The latest Leapfrog Group study shows 87% of hospitals aren't following all recommended guidelines to solve the problem. Practitioners need to see results and know changes in their behavior will make a difference before the culture can shift. "You have to make it real to people," says Gregg Meyer, right, of Massachusetts General.
