Preventing wintertime bone loss: effects of vitamin D supplementation in healthy postmenopausal women.

    [No authors listed]

    Abstract

A double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in health, postmenopausal women with low vitamin D intakes (100 IU/day) has shown that increasing daily vitamin D intake to 500 IU for one year can significantly reduce late wintertime bone loss and increase bone density in the spine.
