    Abstract

The nocturnal worsening of asthma is a common problem that can have significant related morbidity and mortality. There are many circadian biologic rhythms that contribute to the increased nocturnal bronchial reactivity and decrement in lung function. Therapy directed at the nocturnal aspect of this asthma process can produce marked improvement in symptoms and lung function.
