Health integration cost cutting

J Healthc Inf Manag. 2003 Fall;17(4):62-6.

Abstract

By combining several traditional approaches to integration with newer innovations, healthcare organizations are finding that problems such as HIPAA remediation and providing secure online access to patient records can be resolved by leveraging integration projects across the enterprise. In the current cost-cutting environment, the projects that get done are those that can be justified by direct impact on additional revenue, can show significant cost savings and extremely fast return on investment, and meet regulatory requirements.
