    Abstract

    PURPOSE:

A simple transcrotal approach to the surgical treatment of abdominoscrotal hydrocele is presented.

    MATERIALS AND METHODS:

Via a scrotal incision the hydrocele sac is drained and the wall is everted and plicated in the manner described by Lord.

    RESULTS:

The hydrocele is eliminated with a decreased risk of damage to the spermatic cord and epididymis. There has been no recurrence.

    CONCLUSIONS:

The scrotal approach to abdominoscrotal hydrocele is a simple, safe and effective method of managing this relatively uncommon problem.
