    Outcomes research: too good to be true.

    Abstract

    For the past five years, a government agency has used outcomes research techniques in an attempt to discover which medical interventions produce the best results. Mr. Hage doubts the efficacy of the approach and examines the debate about whether outcomes research is a cost-effective way to evaluate clinical techniques.
