Coercion and compulsory hospitalization: some patients' attitudes.

    Abstract

Patients' attitudes upon admission to a psychiatric hospital were elicited. Negative feelings were expressed significantly more often by those who felt coerced into hospital and those admitted compulsorily. Reasons given for these negative feelings are discussed together with suggestions as to how admission procedures could be improved
