At present, none of the contigs from the current public WGS assembly have been placed on chromosomes so you cannot browse the sequence data by chromosome. You can find sequenced regions of interest by:

  • querying Map Viewer for a known gene name, symbol, or locus-tag, e.g., yapsin or ACLA_008920.
  • querying Map Viewer for accession numbers, e.g., XM_001271506 or NW_001517094.
  • searching Gene for A. clavatus genes that have been annotated on the genome.
  • searching by sequence using BLAST against the genome. Results from a BLAST sequence alignment can be displayed in Map Viewer by clicking on the Genome View button or on the accession numbers of the results.

The Aspergillus clavatus genome sequence, assembly, and annotation displayed in Map Viewer (build 1.1) is based on version 3 of the A. clavatus strain NRRL 1 genome provided by The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR). TIGR sequenced the A. clavatus genome at 11.4X coverage using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. The genome assembly consists of 231 WGS contigs in 143 scaffolds; none of the contigs have been placed on chromosomes. TIGR annotated the genome assembly using an automated annotation pipeline.

The A. clavatus haploid genome is approximately 35 Mb, organized in eight chromosomes.

The NCBI Map Viewer provides graphical displays of features on the A. clavatus genome sequence assembly. Map features that can be seen along the sequence include NCBI contigs and their component WGS sequences, genes, and RefSeq transcripts. You can find features of interest by submitting a query using the Search bar above. Results are indicated in a tabular format. The results table includes links to a contig graphical view, where the feature can be seen in the context of additional data. Use the "Maps & Options" window to configure your display. Extensive documentation and tutorials are provided to describe the resource.

A. clavatus is a filamentous fungus that is found in soil and animal manure. Although it is phylogenetically close to the major pathogenic fungi A. fumigatus and A. terreus, A. clavatus is rarely pathogenic. However, it is very allergenic and can produce the mycotoxin patulin.
