Finding cDNAs

DKFZ Pongo pygmaeus cDNA project

OVERVIEW

In 2002, The German cDNA consortium started a cooperation with Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (Leipzig, Germany), focusing on selection and analysis of a comprehensive set of not yet analyzed orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) ESTs and full length cDNAs. By 2004, more than 46.000 orangutan ESTs and 4.000 full-length cDNAs from various tissues have been collected, analyzed and stored in public databases. All sequences and corresponding clones are freely available.
