Entrez Gene Gene Statistics

Statistics about records in Entrez Gene are available :

  1. A current snapshot by taxonomic node
  2. A history for a single species (NCBI taxonomy ID)

A current snapshot by taxonomic node

To generate a report by a taxonomic level above a species, enter the name of the node as recoginized by NCBI's Taxonomy resource, the id for that node, or select one of the choices in the pull-down menu. The output is either html (the default) or text.

The values in the html table are linked as follows:

Column nameLink
Binomial historical Gene data for the species
TaxID NCBI's Taxonomy browser, including the summary of counts of records in other NCBI databases for the species.
Current count Retrieve current records from Gene for the species
A history for a single species (NCBI taxonomy ID)

The monthly counts of Entrez Gene records for the tax_id, sorted inversely by date.
