Abstract
Kwapinski, J. B. (The University of New England, Armidale, N.S.W., Australia). Cytoplasmic antigen relationships among the Actinomycetales. J. Bacteriol. 87:1234–1237. 1964.—Cytoplasm obtained from 44 strains of the Actinomycetales was tested against the homologous and heterologous antisera in a diffusion precipitation test. A pattern of serological relationships among the cytoplasmic fractions was revealed, with Mycobacterium smegmatis occupying a central position in the antigenic evolution of these microorganisms.
