Southern blot analyses of Delftia strains and cloned DNA using an intI3-specific probe. Lanes 1, 2, 5, and 6, uncut genomic DNA of D. acidovorans C17, D. tsuruhatensis A90, D. acidovorans NBRC14950^T, and D. tsuruhatensis NBRC16741^T, respectively. Lanes 3, 4, 7, and 8, HindIII-digested DNA of C17, A90, and cosmids CC17-15 and CA90-6, respectively. The hybridizing fragment in CA90-6 is 5.2 kb, larger than that in A90 genomic DNA (3.1 kb), because the latter is interrupted by cloning. A GeneRuler 1-kb ladder (Fermentas) in lanes m is used as a marker. Single arrowhead, 2.5 kb; double arrowhead; 5 kb.

Block diagram demonstrating parameter identification (A) and prediction of fatigue (B) using the force-motion (Force) and fatigue models. During parameter identification (A) force-motion model parameters (muscle parameters) were identified by fitting the modeled forces, angles, and angular velocities to the measurements collected prior to and during the fatiguing protocol in response to the 50CFT and 12.5VFT trains. The fatigue model parameters were identified by fitting the parameters A₉₀, K_m, and τ₁ (3 of the 15 muscle parameters) derived from the force-motion model to the parameters A₉₀, K_m, and τ₁ predicted by the fatigue model. During model validation (B), the force and velocity predicted by the force-motion model enter the fatigue model at a given time step. The fatigue model predicts the parameters A₉₀, K_m, and τ₁ to be used by the force-motion model for the next time step. Upon completion of all time steps the predicted fatigue is compared to the measured fatigue to validate the model.
