This file describes general information about the map.
The file name should be [mapname]_map_desc where [mapname] is actual name of the map.
If the map name contains space, replace it with _ (underscore) in the filename.
Provide the following fields in the key=value format and save it as text file.
Map Name= Concise mapname. This is an abbereviated map name.
Map Title= Full map name.
Map Type= 1 for linkage map, 2 for Radiation hybrid, 3 for cytogenetic, and 7 for Physical map.
Map Version= Version number, if applicable.
Taxonomic Name= Genus species ex: Homo sapiens
Taxonomy ID= Taxid as appears in NCBI's Taxonomy database
To find it, go to NCBI Taxonomy.
Data Source= Institution where the data is generated.
Data URL= Url where the data can be obtained. The combination of Data Source and Data URL should be unique to this map.
PMID= Pubmed id(s) if it is published.
If multiple, list them all and use semicolon as separator,
e.g., 123456;333456.
HOLD_UNTIL= Date to hold data before releaseing it to public.
Specify date in the format of mm/dd/yyyy.
For immediate release, leave this field empty.
Map Units= Map unit. ex: cM, or cR, bp or ordinal.
Contact_person= The contact person's name.
Address= Postal address.
