Fungal Genomes Central is a portal to information and resources about fungi and fungal sequencing projects from NCBI and the fungi research community. We invite you to explore the links provided on this page.
The fungi are a large group of diverse eukaryotic organisms that includes yeasts, molds, mushrooms, truffles, morels, puffballs, smuts, and rusts. Many fungal organisms are beneficial to the ecosystem or have practical applications, whereas other fungi are pathogenic to humans, animals, or plants. Fungi are excellent model organisms for studying the biological processes of higher eukaryotes, and several have had important roles in fundamental biological discoveries.

Entrez Genome Project |
|
The Entrez Genome Project database is a collection of large-scale sequencing, assembly, annotation, and mapping projects for cellular organisms, such as fungi. Organism-specific overviews facilitate browsing and retrieval of projects, and provide access to relevant data and resources.
