  1. Maximal transcriptional induction of mfc1+ was observed in response to copper deficiency and that Mca1 was constitutively bound to the mfc1+ promoter irrespective of changes in copper concentrations. Optimal induction of mfc1+ transcription coincided with maximal chromatin occupancy by RNA Pol II under low copper conditions.There was a lack of RNA Pol II recruitment at the mfc1+ locus in response to excess copper.
