Summary
The insect gustatory and odorant receptors are chemoreceptors that interact with small molecules in sensory organs and trigger the perception of a taste or smell. The gustatory and odorant receptors are members of a large family of 7-transmembrane domain proteins that function as ligand-gated ion channels and may also signal via G-proteins and second messengers. The chemoreceptor gene family is the largest in the genome. The nomenclature assigned to the chemoreceptor genes and proteins for this organism is independent of other organisms. RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
