Entamoeba histolytica infected sigmoid colon

Analysis of colon biopsies from individuals during acute E. histolytica diarrhea (day 1) versus convalescence (day 60) post metronidazole treatment. The E. histolytica pathogen causes diarrhea and colitis. Results provide insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying amebic colitis pathology.
