AMA and NLM announce plan to include CPT codes in the GTR

Under a recent agreement with the American Medical Association (AMA), the AMA's Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for molecular pathology tests will be incorporated in the National Institutes of Health's Genetic Testing Registry (GTR). Inclusion of the CPT codes (expected later this year) further enhances the goals of GTR to enable clinicians to locate useful information about genetic tests in a single resource and to promote interoperability with electronic medical records and laboratory information management systems.

The GTR Submission Site is Open and Accepting Test Registrations!

The Genetic Testing Registry (GTR) submission site is open and accepting test registrations! Eight percent of the laboratories listed in GeneTests have migrated their laboratory and test information since the submission site officially opened on June 1st. New labs are also registering with the GTR. The GTR offers multiple ways to register tests. Laboratories can use the interactive submission website to migrate (copy) their tests from the GeneTests Laboratory Directory or add tests as new entries. The GTR anticipates accepting bulk submissions via spreadsheet or xml in the next 1-2 months.
