Use this utility to validate your citation files
against the NCBI PubMed DTD
before submitting them to NCBI.
Additional information about this utility is available in the FAQ.
You may validate your Citation file using one of the following options:
Input your citation file (30KB file size limit) in a text box. Note: This option will *NOT* identify Encoding errors.
Upload your citation file (1.5MB file size limit and HTML-4 compliant browser required). This option is strongly recommended.
Some notes about the result pages when using the Validator:
Files with errors will produce an error report.
Red lettering in an error report highlights an error that must be corrected in order for the file to load. Please review the Citation File Validator - FAQ for an explanation of common error messages.
Blue lettering in a citation list may indicate missing bibliographic data; i.e. No Authors Listed or No Abstract. This is not necessarily an error.
Files without errors will produce a list of citations as they will appear in the PubMed database.
