GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

GENERAL POLICY

Proposed agents should meet our minimum criteria for inclusion into the database. The MICAD staff will assist authors to ensure their contributions are prepared in accordance to MICAD in-house style and format (see section "Additional Tools for Authors"). Names of contributing authors will be acknowledged upon publication of the chapter on the MICAD website.

Please note: Any information provided will be reviewed by the MICAD scientific and editorial team and may undergo substantial revisions, additions, or deletions to comply with the content and formatting standards of the database. Submission of an agent does not guarantee publication. Any submission not meeting the miminum criteria for inclusion will not be accepted.

Contributions made to MICAD are citable in the following format: {Author Name}.{Chemical Name. Abbreviated Name}. In: Molecular Imaging and Contrast Agent Database (MICAD) [database online]. Bethesda (MD): National Library of Medicine (US), NCBI; 2004-{current year}. Available from: http://micad.nih.gov.

MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR INCLUSION

To be considered for inclusion into our database, proposed agents must meet, at a minimum:

1) An acceptable research study published in peer-reviewed scientific literature.
2) A synthetic procedure with sufficient details.
3) Either in vitro, ex vivo, or in vivo data with respect to testing of the agent in a biological system.

Please provide appropriate references pertaining to peer-reviewed literature on the agent and any additional relevant information. Depending on the agent, additional information for inclusion in the chapter may be requested by the MICAD staff.

CHAPTER REVISIONS AND UPDATES

Since it is critically important that the information provided by MICAD to the imaging community is current and relevant, the guest authors are encouraged to continue working with the MICAD editors to revise and update their chapters as new information becomes available. When they are not able to do so for any reason, MICAD reserves the right to update or revise the guest author chapters as necessary. The MICAD editors will first attempt to contact the corresponding authors before making the revisions or updates. If the chatper is revised or updated by the MICAD editors, a notation of the fact will be included at the end of the chapter.
