Scientific Imaging Editor

Computercraft's team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals is participating in the development and maintenance of a centralized database of in vivo molecular imaging agents. The Molecular Imaging and Contrast Agent Database (MICAD) is a free comprehensive database which includes agents that are under pre-clinical development or are commercially available for positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and optical imaging, etc. The database is a collaboration between the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Center for Biotechnology Information and is located at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Computercraft seeks an experienced imaging scientist/editor to provide scientific leadership for the development and maintenance of the new imaging agent database at the NIH. The individual will interact with NIH staff scientists and extramural advisors onsite at the NIH campus. This diversified and challenging position requires a PhD (strongly preferred) with postdoctoral laboratory experience or MS degree with exceptional research experience in imaging sciences or highly related field.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable knowledge of the chemistry and developmental process of in vivo imaging agents, will be aware of the current analytical tools used in the development of imaging agents (biological and small molecules), and have a working knowledge of the issues associated with the information technology and cheminformatics necessary to successfully implement this database. Excellent organizational and verbal/written communications skills are required for this detail-oriented position. Editorial experience is advantageous.
