Table 1ACR criteria for the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis

Criteria
1.Morning stiffness lasting greater than 1 hour
2.Arthritis in three or more joint areas
3.Arthritis of the hand joints (metacarpophalangeal [MCP], proximal interphalangeal [PIP], wrists)
4.Symmetric arthritis
5.Rheumatoid nodules
6.Serum rheumatoid factor
7.Radiographic changes: erosions or unequivocal periarticular osteopenia
